Queer and Poly-Affirming Telehealth Therapy in New Mexico

New Mexico is a big state with a lot of distance between communities, and an affirming therapist is not always close by. I offer online therapy to adults across New Mexico, so where you live does not decide whether you can work with someone who understands your identity and your relationships.

Who I work with

I work with LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse adults and with people in consensually non-monogamous relationships, including polyamorous and kink-involved clients. My practice also includes neurodivergent adults, and I see individuals along with Dyadic and Triadic+ relationships.

Many of the people I work with are navigating questions about desire, kink, or relationship structure.

Why affirming care matters

  • About 6.9% of Washington adults identify as LGBTQ+, nearly 400,000 people and well above the national estimate of 5.5%.

  • In two national samples of single U.S. adults, more than one in five reported having been in a consensually non-monogamous relationship at some point in their lives.

Those numbers include people in every corner of New Mexico, many of whom have never had a therapist who did not need their identity or relationship explained first.

How I work

A great deal of what people bring to therapy has developed in isolation. At the center of my work is undoing that aloneness. I draw on AEDP and IFS, so we stay attentive to what is happening between us in the moment and bring curiosity to the different parts of you, including the ones that have worked hard to keep you protected.

My doctoral research studied internalized transphobia, discrimination, and distress among transgender and gender-expansive people, and that understanding of minority stress is woven into how I practice.
